3 Dimensional Storytelling™
is a unique, lively and highly interactive methodology created, developed
and taught by Creative Storytelling Solutions. The story being told is
actually built as it is performed. The unique 3 Dimensional Storytelling™
method has been successfully field tested and utilized at over 100 Federally
and State funded Head Start facilities. It has been presented over 200 times
in private preschools and daycare centers always with positive results. It
is now being presented in the library systems. The targeted audiences range
in ages from 2-7 years. The story method is tailored to 15, 30, and 45
minutes to meet the attention span of the various age groups.

3 Dimensional Storytelling™
Goals
The goals of 3 Dimensional
Storytelling™ are to address Federal Educational Guidelines, Performance
Measures and Outcomes Implemented for Head Start Organizations; assist Even
Start Organizations in meeting the 4 core components required; address the
"Preschool For All" learning initiative concerns and requirements; and
assist parents in becoming partners in their child's growth, development,
and education.

Methodology
Each story starts with an
empty tabletop. As the story is being shared specially crafted pieces of the
story are added to the table. These pieces are integral to the storyline and
provide colorful visual input that coincides with the verbalized story. The
children are all made Junior Storytellers and actively participate in the
story development. Puppets, songs and role-playing by the children are all
incorporated into the presentation. These techniques are used to introduce
and reinforce the alphabet, phonics, and numeric awareness. Increased
vocabulary and better communication skills are encouraged by introducing new
words to the children and sharing the meaning with them. Exercises
throughout the story promote the use of the children's imaginations and
creativity. Each story is themed to encourage positive behaviors and a goal
setting mindset. A positive self-esteem message is left with the children.
Children of non-English
backgrounds, as they are shown the story pieces, are encouraged to
participate by joining in the role playing and repeating portions of the
story in English.
At the conclusion of the 3
Dimensional Story™ presentation, each child is given themed coloring sheets
and a Junior Storyteller Certificate.

3 Dimensional Storytelling™
Applications
Self-esteem, personal
hygiene, school safety and nutritional programs are easily incorporated into
3 Dimensional Stories™. Children's classics including The Three Little Pigs,
Goldilocks, The Three Bears, The Ugly Duckling and The Three Billy Goats
Gruff are just a few stories that readily lend themselves to this format and
have been used at Head Start and Preschools. Original 3 Dimensional
Stories™, such as The Adventures of Quackers the Duck©, have been written to
promote teamwork and an appreciation of diversity.
All 3 Dimensional Story™
programs can be tailored to the unique needs of the schools or daycare
centers. For example, the original 3 Dimensional safety story, Good
Decisions©, is tailored to incorporate each individual school's safety rules
and procedures. Good Decisions© was created to meet a specific request from
Head Start Centers.
